Student Consumed which offers access to current events (Ex: CBS World News Podcasts, Newsweek on Air, ABC News Nightline, and Nova Vodcast), experts in different fields (Ex: SciQ which is a website and television series for children about science), personal interests which features a variety of topics (Ex: Just in Time - current health issues and Learn Out Loud which provides famous historical speeches), and around the world which offers lessons on learning a foreign language. Student Created contains podcasts created by students on a variety of topics. 2.Top 10 Apps for iPod Touch and iPhone – This article shows Wesley Fryer’s favorite education applications for the iPod Touch and the iPhone. 3.Apple Learning Exchange – iPod Touch – Touching Student Lives in the Classroom – This is a collection of stories and lessons using the iPod Touch. These lessons include: A)Taking the iTouch to the Gym. Nike and Apple joined together to promote Cardio App (students are able to track their progress in jogging, walking, lifting weights, and using a Nintendo Wii), Run Calc (students are able to track their time, distance, and pace), and iFitness (which helps educate students on proper form for lifting weights). B) Geography on the Go. This includes Google Maps and Earth which allows students to find approximate current geographical location, quickly find how to get to a contact’s place of business or home, and plotting routes to destinations. C) iPod Touch as Publication Tool: Mobile Blogging. You are told how to create an assessment in Google Docs, send it to your students via their iPod Touch, and collect and display the results in class. 5. iPods and Educational Applications have Minnesota Students Giddy about Learning – Somerset Elementary School in Mendota Heights, Minnesota, has reported that math and spelling activities that used to seem boring have a “sudden allure” on an iPod. The school recently received an iPod Touch minilab. This is a storage-and-charging cart on wheels with dozens of iTouch devices, along with a laptop for downloading educational applications and transferring them to the devices.
